Randall "Randy" Gene Gilham

Randall “Randy” Gene Gilham was born on August 2, 1959, and was raised and lived in and around Birmingham, Alabama. On March 14, 1992, Randy married his wife, Karen, with whom he built a life centered on faith, family, and a deep love for the people around him. Together, they raised three sons and were blessed with ten grandchildren. Randy spent most of his professional life working in outside sales, but the work he did was never what defined him. Randy was defined by the way he loved. Family was at the center of his life. He loved his wife and his sons deeply, but there was a particularly special place in his heart for his grandchildren. Being their “Poppa” was one of the greatest joys of his life. He treasured time spent with them, took pride in each of them, and made sure they knew just how deeply they were loved. As much as Randy loved his family, there was One he loved even more. His faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. It shaped the husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that he became, and it was reflected perhaps most clearly in the generosity for which he will always be remembered. Randy had a giving heart. He was generous with what he had, generous with his time, and generous with his love. If someone he cared about had a need and Randy had a way to meet it, there was rarely a question of whether he would help. Giving was simply part of who he was. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Gilda Gilham, and his brother, Rick Gilham. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Karen; his three sons, Blake (Kendra), Joshua (Kristen), and Matthew (Crystal); his siblings, Pat, Sandy (Kenneth) and Rodger (Sherry); ten grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life, and a myriad of nieces and nephews to whom he was much more than just an uncle. Randy leaves behind far more than a list of names. He leaves a family that knew they were loved, lives made better by his generosity, and a legacy of faith that will continue through the generations that follow him. For those who knew Randy, his absence will be deeply felt. But for a man whose hope was firmly placed in Christ, death does not have the final word. The faith Randy carried throughout his life became sight when he entered the presence of the Savior he loved. He loved his family well. He gave freely. He lived his faith. And the lives he touched will carry his memory forward. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 12pm at Caffee Junction Church of God, 21231 US Highway 11, McCalla, AL 35111. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 10am to 12pm. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Zion Cemetery, 2427 Corner Road, Warrior, AL 35180.
