Randall "Randy" Darron Allred

Randall “Randy” Darron Allred, age 57, of Corner went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 22, 2023 after a four year battle with bile duct cancer. Randy was born on November 9, 1965. He graduated from Corner High School with the class of 1984. Immediately after graduation he completed an apprenticeship in welding. Randy eventually left welding and entered a career in produce and became an expert in the field. His career spanned 30 years and included growing, packaging, shipping and managing produce. He was highly admired for his hard work, dedication and contribution to his profession. Randy was a hard worker, sometimes working two jobs to care for his family. He had a great love for his family and his community. He was a staple of Corner Community Park, coaching both his eldest and youngest daughters, his niece, and countless other players from 1996-2013. He shared and instilled a love for the game, overcoming adversity and a “can’t never could” attitude. In addition to coaching numerous teams, he also spent many days volunteering at Corner Community Park. Randy was an active member of Highpoint Community Church for the past 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, Alabama football, and spending meaningful time with his family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Allred Dockins; stepfather, Gene Dockins; brother, Harold Allred, Jr.; paternal grandparents Hubert and Cara Allred and maternal grandparents Walter and Ella Capps. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jewell Allred; his two daughters, Elizabeth Allred (Merritt Milam) and Emily Allred; sisters, Rhonda Rhodes (Melvin) and Karen Sickles (Harold, Sr.); niece Katrina Sickles-Jossey (Matthew) and countless extended family members and friends, his softball community and church family. Visitation will be held at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. The family will receive guests from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will be held at Highpoint Community Church on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 beginning at 1pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Rev. Joey Hill will officiate. The family would like to express an abundance of thanks to each and every individual who prayed, supported, and loved on us through Randy’s journey. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Randy Allred, to High Point Community Church, 185 Morris-Cobb Rd., Empire, AL 35063. The family would also like to offer special thanks to Palliative Care at UAB and Pro Health Hospice.
