Kevin Dean Bailey

Kevin Dean Bailey born February 25th, 1983 at St Vincent's hospital in Birmingham, Alabama has sadly passed away on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025 at his home in Gardendale. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wayland Bailey and Patricia Ann Beasley Bailey. He is survived by step-mom Beth Bailey, daughter Kaitlyn Taylor, and his brothers, Wayland Bailey (Carrie Thomas), Kenny Bailey (Terri Crowe), Justin Bailey (Jayci Bailey), and Justin McCorkle (Lisa McCorkle), Michael Sprott (Brenda Sprott), and David Sprott (Nikki Sprott). Kevin was the proud Uncle and Great Uncle of Brittany Maughon (Logan Griffith) (Declan and Roman Maughon), Kale Bailey (Kierra Bailey), Lani Bailey Twilley (Jacob Twilley), Gracelyn Twilley, Parker Twilley, Riley Twilley, Brenden Bailey, Jolee Isbell, and Jameson Bailey. Kevin was the nephew of Sterling Bailey, Linda Kay Beasley, John Luke Beasley (Becky Beasley), Timothy Mack Beasley (Pam Beasley), Randy Welshans (Becky Welshans, deceased), and numerous loved cousins and extended family members. Kevin attended Gardendale school systems and Wallace State Community College for two years. He was a baptised member of The World Wide and Remnant Church God. Kevin was the proud inspection manager for a major portion of the state of Alabama for Johnson Controls. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman, spending most of his time hunting, fishing, and becoming a self proclaimed beach bum. Kevin was a devoted fan for the University of Alabama athletics, (Roll Damn Tide) and the Atlanta Braves. Most known for his incredible talent over the last 25 years playing with his brothers as the drummer (Kevin THE ANIMAL Bailey) in The Southern Boys Band entertaining thousands of people across the south east. Kevin had a love for music that started at a young age of 5 years old, and was privileged to be able to play with some of the musical heroes he looked up to the most. That stretches from local talent to future and former state and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. At any friend or family function you knew when Kevin arrived, we did not call him bull horn for nothing. He gravitated towards his nieces and nephews and was deemed the super uncle “Kuv”. Kevin was so many special things to so many people in the community. When you met Kevin you would've thought you had known him your whole life. Everyone knows what a Kevin hug is, and if you ever got the privilege to meet him on the dance floor, you know he was the best dancer partner there ever was. Kevin's favorite Bailey Motto, “We don’t go backwards, we move forward”. Not only was Kevin a God fearing family man, he was also a fierce patriot for the United States of America. So much so, that he berated The President of the United States at the time about one of his policies that he very much so disagreed with, and was awarded a reply from The President. (He still has the letter to prove it). Kevin loved harder than anyone that we’ve ever known if you were his friend, you were his family. 1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. In the wise words of Kevin Bailey, “I have tried and I’m tried no more until I’m tried by the almighty. Love peace and goodnight”. A Celebration of Kevin's life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
