Frances Goodwin

Mary Frances Tyler Goodwin, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday February 11, 2024 at her home. She was born December 25, 1936, in Bradford, AL. Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Goodwin; parents, Rev. Richard L. Tyler, Sr. and Addie Dorman Tyler; grandparents, Charles M. Dorman and Mary Frances Higginbotham Dorman and Joseph A. Tyler and Minnie Reeves Tyler; brothers Coy Gordon Tyler (Olga) and Rev. Richard L. Tyler, Jr. (Mary); sisters, Avis L. Tyler Johnson Obermeyer (Cleo) (Lawrence) and Hazel L. Tyler Rhoades (Ivian) as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Herbert Goodwin and Dora Mae Hyde Goodwin. Frances is survived by her daughters, Wanda A. Goodwin and Darlene “Cissie” Mann (Travis); grandchildren, Adam E. Mann (Jerah), Elizabeth D. Mann, Lee T. Mann and L. Alexander Mann; great-grandchildren, Addison T. Mann, Rylie D. Mann and McKinley J. Mann and her sister, Barbara A. Tyler as well as a host of nieces, nephews extended family members and friends. Frances and Clifton married in 1958. They remained married for 45 years, until his death in 2003. Frances loved the Lord and was a lifetime member of The Church of God. The family would like to give a big thank you to Hope Hospice of Gardendale, AL for the care they gave Frances throughout her transition from this life to the next. The family would love to recognize Frances’ RN, Crystal Calvert; aide Ganeana “Gigi” Gean; social worker, Nan Davis and all the nurses, Shana, Karri, Jada and Kati. The family loves and appreciates each one of them. Funeral services to honor Frances life will be entrusted to Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in the Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 14, 2024 beginning at noon at Masseyline Church of God in Pinson, AL. The family will receive guests for one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Masseyline Church of God Cemetery. Rev. Bennie Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Frances’ grandchildren; Adam Mann, Elizabeth Mann, Lee Mann, Alex Mann, Ashley Graves and Wesley Graves.
