John William Morris, 82 of passed away on Monday, February 15,2021. John served in the United States Navy, was President of the Soil and Water Conservation, and President of Alabama Cattleman’s Association. He was also a lifelong member of Jefferson County Farmers Federation where he was the current President. He served as State Vice President of the central area. He was a staunch conservative, and was actively involved in the Republican Party of Jefferson County for many years. John’s love and passion was for farming and that passion spanned over a time of 50 years. He remained an active farmer until his passing. He loved to travel and was often the life of the party. He was a great advisor to all and has touch many lives. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pauline B. Morris and his six children: John W. Morris II (Laurie) Cathy M. Hannah (Nelson) Julie M. Hooper (Steve) Charles F. Engler, Donna K. Melvin (Johnny) Kelly Y. Shoemaker (Mike) Sister, Mary Jewel Nail (Richard) Sister-in-Law, Sue Morris. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 25 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by Parents, John Roger and Maytle Morris (Sandlin); Daughter, Debra Ann Morris; Daughter, Debra Ann Engler Campbell; and Brother, Roger Alan Morris. Visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home at 12:30PM with Chapel services at 2PM and burial to follow at Morris Cemetery.
