Clayton Allen
June 16, 1939 - April 14, 2020
Clayton Allen, born June 16, 1939 in Tishomingo County, MS, went home on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at age 80 and in the words of his favorite song, “Look for Me at Jesus’ Feet”, this is now a reality for him. Left to mourn his home-going are his loving wife of almost 53 years, Judy Allen; two children, David (Stacy) Allen and Tonya (Gene Paul) Branham; four grandchildren, Audie (Megan) Allen, Allen (Mallory) Branham, Andrew (MaKayla) Branham, and Anna Grace Branham; two great grandchildren, Foster Allen and Paisley Rae Branham; one brother-in-law, William Drake; and he was “Uncle Monk” to many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Burgess & Myrtie Allen and siblings, Eva (Gray) Basden, Audrey (Lolan) Credille, Fred (Alice) Allen, Paul (Pernecy) Allen, Travis (Sarah) Allen, Kathleen Drake, Elledge (Patsy) Allen, and Hugh Allen. Clayton was a deacon of Central Baptist Church for 35 years, a former member of First Baptist Church of Mount Olive and a current member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. He retired from Eastern Air Lines after 33 years of service. He also worked for Ajax Railroad Builders and Morrow Railroad Builders. His hobby was working on tractors. He was known as “Tractor Man of Mt. Olive”. He loved Southern Gospel Music, Atlanta Braves and the University of Alabama. Most of all his favorite thing was watching Tabernacle Christian School sports of all kinds for over 40 years.
