Brandon Wade Blackwood

July 17, 1986 - October 26, 2019

Brandon Wade Blackwood passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at age 33. He is survived by mother and stepfather, Jill Blackwood Morse & Bobby Morse; father, Danny Blackwood; biological father whom Brandon had reconnected with in recents years, Shane Yates; one sister, Brittani Blackwood; nephews, Landon and Levi; niece, Paisley; grandparents, Billy Joe Sims and Elizabeth Blackwood; uncle, Danny Joe Sims; aunt, Sherry Malone (Jeff); and a host of other friends and family. Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mava Sims, Daniel Blackwood, and Francine Harris. He was a 2004 graduate of J.B. Pennington High School. He went on to be the valedictorian of his class at Nascar Technical Institute. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard 167th Infantry out of Cullman where he spent time in Iraq and was awarded many honors. Brandon loved God with all his heart and we have no doubt he is in Heaven today with his Savior. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
