Arnold L. Briscoe

August 9, 1930 - April 21, 2022

Arnold L. Briscoe, 91 of Gardendale passed away on April 21, 2022. Arnold was a member of Pineywood Baptist Church for over 60 years. He spent most of his career as the Quality Control Manager at Shasta Beverages and ended at Coca-Cola and also enjoyed taxidermy work many years. Arnold proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bingo at the senior center and many hours playing dominoes with Doris. He loved his garden, planting and driving the tractor, as well as spending time with his family and grandchildren and watching the Braves. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ida Briscoe; two brothers, two sisters and one great granddaughter, Carly Ann Giles. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Doris Hutson Briscoe; their two sons, Larry Michael (Kathy) Briscoe and Gary Wayne (Mary Beth) Briscoe; one daughter, Diane Briscoe (Ricky) Stewart; six grandchildren, Clint (Amy) Briscoe, Tamara (Troy) Henderson, Amy (Bryan) Giles, Steadman (Danielle) Stewart, Matthew Briscoe and Catherine Briscoe; and twelve great grandchildren, Kyla Briscoe, Matt Briscoe, Austin Henderson, Kailyn Henderson, Madison Henderson, Hutson Briscoe, Whit Giles, Dalton Giles, Bryson Stewart, David Stewart, Scarlett Mae Stewart and Olivia Stewart. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Vincent’s East particularly the Intensive Care Unit as well as the staff with Hope Hospice Visitation will be held at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, April 24 from 5-7PM. Chapel Services will be held on Monday April 25 at 11AM with burial to follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale.
