Jacqueline Kay “Jackie” Painter (Miles), born March 4th, 1958, in Bessemer, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on May 25th, 2026 surrounded by family. Her life was marked by love, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She resided in Cullman, Alabama, with her husband, Robert Steven Painter. Known to most as Jackie, and lovingly called “Nana” by her grandchildren, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put others before herself. If she knew someone was going through a hard time, she showed up, making sure they had food, clothes, or simply someone to be there. She gave without a second thought and truly lived her life putting others before herself. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Steve Painter; her children, Ronald David Finnen (Terri), Candi Michele Johnson (Brandon), and Jason Painter (Wendy); her grandchildren, Garrett Finnen (Courtney), Ashley Coppock (Tyler), Kristy Lemley, Savannah Calvert (Dylon), Mary Lyndsey Johnson, Makayla Johnson, Auston, Kaleb, Jacob, Ayden Finnen, and Lainey Claire Painter, who were the light of her life and whom she cherished deeply; her great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Kensleigh Coppock, Haley Smith, Caysen Hays; her siblings, Wanda Wood, Janice Thompson (Danny), and Joey Miles (Christy); along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie Lambert Seagle and Jack Latimer Miles; her son, Stanley Eugene Finnen; and her siblings, Jimmy Reach (Kathy), David Miles, and Angela Boley. The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of North Alabama, especially her nurse Michelle Simmons, for the compassion, comfort, and care shown to Jackie and her family during her final journey. A special thank you is also extended to her sitter, Michelle Winstead, whose love, kindness, and faithful presence brought comfort not only to Jackie, but to the entire family. Jackie will be remembered for her giving spirit, her strength, and the way she loved her family and others so selflessly. The impact she made will forever be cherished. To know her was to be loved by her. Services to honor Jackie's life will be held at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home at 2pm on Monday, June 1, 2026. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to service time. Jackie will be laid to rest in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
