Eric Anton Pridmore

In loving memory of Eric “Big E” Anton Pridmore, 43, of Warrior passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. A dedicated dad and inspiring coach whose passion for the game touched the lives of many. He will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Kristie Pridmore and their two beautiful daughters, Reese Pridmore and Harper Pridmore; father, Steve Pridmore, brother, Steven Pridmore and sister, Peggy Murphy (Bryan); mother-in-law Betty Mathis, brother-in-law, Keith (LaTisha) Mathis, nephews, Brody Mathis and Braden Murphy and nieces, Kendall Mathis and Palmer Murphy; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was welcomed into heaven by the arms of his mother, Diane Pridmore. Coach Eric, also known as “Big E.” led his 2027 Birmingham Mustangs with unwavering commitment, fostering not only athletic skills but also values of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Over his coaching career, his impact on the players and the softball community will be remembered fondly. His love for the game of softball and the time he invested and studied different skills, techniques, and drills to better each player he coached goes far beyond what most would ever consider doing for an unpaid coach. He was the kind of coach that the girls wanted to PLAY for, and he was so proud of each and every one of them. He truly loved each of the girls he coached and wanted to make sure that if they wanted to play at the next level, they would be ready for it. He could remember when and where tournaments had been played and the special plays that occurred during specific games by each different girl. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations on and off the field. “There are only two things you can control…your effort and your attitude.” – Big E. Off the field, Eric was a cherished father to Reese and Harper, whose warmth, wisdom, and love enriched the lives of those around him. Eric was a pillar of strength and a source of endless support for his family. His laughter, guidance, and unwavering love created lasting memories that will be cherished forever. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Eric has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor and witty one-liners and able to make you laugh, even if at the wrong time! There was so much more to him than just a dad and coach. He was also a friend, a coworker and colleague, a cousin, brother, stand-in paternal figure to the fatherless, a handyman, the list goes on and on. Funeral services will be Friday, January 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home; interment will follow in Liberty-Minter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home.
