Becky Ann Rogers

Becky Ann Rogers went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2023, at the age of 59. She was a native of Birmingham, Alabama. She grew up in Homewood and attended school in the Homewood School System as it was one of the few systems that mainstreamed special needs students in the early 1970’s. Becky moved to Florence, Alabama in 1988 with her parents and spent the next 29 years living and thriving in that community. While in Florence, Becky attended Hope Haven/ARC of the Shoals where she made lifelong friendships. She participated in Special Olympics and was an avid bowler; she loved attending Camp ASCCA every year and loved to cross-stitch. In 2017, she returned to her hometown of Birmingham with her Mother. She attended United Ability where she thrived and became a true leader. She finally met her lifelong goal of living on her own in a group home with her very special friends and roommates. Becky was a special gift from God. If you had the honor of knowing her, you were blessed with her sweet spirit and loving heart. She saw the good in everyone and taught those around her how to love unconditionally and to never judge those who were different. She loved her Alabama Crimson Tide; fishing at her sister’s lakehouse ; and was a “Golden Girls” superfan. Becky’s giving spirit will live on as she continues to give the gift of life through organ donation. Becky was preceded in death by her father, Frank Rogers; step-father, Charlie Stone; her beloved brother-in-law, Barry Faulkner; and grandparents Winnice Manning and Richard and Elizabeth Leonard. She is survived by her Mother, Patricia Stone; Sister, Lisa Rogers Faulkner; Niece, Morgan Faulkner Sparks; Nephew, Brady Faulkner; her beloved great niece and nephew, Charlie Beth Sparks and Tucker Sparks; her Aunt Sheryl and Uncle Ralph Morin; her Aunt Susan and Uncle Johnny Manning; and many other cousins, friends & family. Services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 11:00 am at Gardendale Funeral Home, 2214 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations in honor of Becky Rogers to United Ability, 100 Oslo Circle, Birmingham, AL 35211.
