Ab Edward Argent Sr.

Ab Edward Argent, Sr., age 89 of Gardendale, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2025. Ab is preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Ann Argent; parents, Abner Bell Argent and Mary Christian Argent; brother, Ira Argent; sister, Shirley Ann Robertson (Richard) and his grandson, Ramsay Davis. He is survived by his children Leigh Ann Davis, Vickie Fine, Abbie Johnson (Jamie), and Ab Argent, Jr. (Rachel); grandchildren, Patrick Giambrone (Lindsay), Nikki Walsh (Bill), Dr. Laci Bean (Logan), Brandon Johnson (Brittany), Brett Johnson, Adi Argent McCullough (Pate), Sarah Beth Argent, and Ellie Grace Argent; great-grandchildren, Chace Anderson, Tristen Antinoro, Brodie Paul Davis, Brinley Giambrone, Olivia Giambrone, Deacon Giambrone, Makenzie Giangrosso, Ethan Giangrosso, Emma Giangrosso, Mason Giangrosso, Grayson Walsh, Baylor Walsh, Ava Lawrence, S.J. Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, Charlie Johnson, and Stella Johnson; granddaughter-in-law, Brandi Davis, as well as his beloved church family and many friends at the Gardendale Senior Center. Ab was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was a longtime member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. He enjoyed his daily walks, coffee and fellowship with his friends and church family at the Gardendale First Baptist Family Life Center. Ab was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, beach trips with his family, eating seafood and yardwork. Ab was also a fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football. His favorite coaches were Bear Bryant and Nick Saban. Ab was very patriotic and loved his country passionately. He was a member of the McCarty-Farrar F and AM Masonic Lodge #8 and was also a Shriner. Ab's family wishes to extend deep appreciation to ACG Hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to Ab and his family during his illness. The entire team was amazing, but they wish to offer special thanks to Dr. Doug Alford; Katie Culwell, RN; Tish, CNA; Nan Davis, Social Worker; Les Colvin, Chaplin as well as Crystal Calvers and Nicole Haywood. Each of the named team members went above and beyond to provide the best care possible during this difficult time. The family also wants to give a special thanks to the sitters, Gail Griffin, GiGi Gean and Tracy Vell whose help was invaluable. Funeral services to honor his life will be held at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10 am. The family will receive guests for one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Mark Harrison will officiate.
